And today’s topic is on the subject of interviewing people, talking to people, maybe even coaching people. Utilizing someone else’s time. 

Do we value that other person’s time? Do we value the information that we’re getting from them? The quality, the content of information that we’re receiving from them… Do we take all of that into consideration before we approach someone asking for their time? 

Understanding that people are busy,  they have jobs, families, they have personal needs of their own. They need their own time and mental space. And life as we know it is likely already asking so much of these very, very people. 

Then, we come along and we’d like to borrow a moment of their time…. 

I’m a professional interviewer. I literally ask people questions for a living. One of the very first questions out of my mouth is “Do you have just two minutes to speak with me quickly?” No matter where they are or what they’re doing, I guarantee you I have a success rate of 99.88823% of that person actually saying yes and staying on the phone with me. 

The whole point of this particular topic here is that I actually have an emerging need, believe that what you have to contribute is of value, and I would like it included. So, I want to ask you some questions.
